Afro Magic Band was founded by Mbaye Ndiaye in 1997. He was a percussionist, dancer
and choreographer in the National Theater of Senegal for seven years before he came to
Hungary. And Mbaye traveled all around the world with the National Ballet to America,
Asia, and Europe. He worked together with lot of word stars for example Youssou N'Dour.
The Afro Magic Band's members are African and Hungarian musicians, their philosophy
is the multicultural integration. The style is afro-pop, the fusion of traditional and modern
instruments. That's why their music is very exotic and has powerful rhythm. They played in
the big cities in Hungary and a lot of festivals, for example Sziget Fesztivál, Balatonsound,
EFOTT Fesztivál and many clubs in Budapest and in the countryside. The band is invited by
the neighbour countries: Romania, Serbia, Poland, Austria and Slovakia. In 2011 Afro Magic
Band wins the Hungarian Fringe Festival in world music category.
